Parenting By Nature *GIVEAWAY*
This giveaway is closed. The winning number is 38 – congratulations, Sarah!! And big thanks to Parenting By Nature for sponsoring this giveaway!!
Having a baby can be so overwhelming! There’s so much to learn and buy, and everyone has an opinion to offer. It can be difficult to decide which baby carrier to choose, or which brand of cloth diaper would best fit your needs. That’s where Parenting by Nature steps in. Family-owned Parenting By Nature calls themselves a “natural family boutique”, and “offers a wealth of information and products that are specially selected for their dedication to producing healthy babies, strong family attachment and a lighter footprint on the environment.”
Parenting By Nature has an extensive selection of baby carriers (more than any brick and mortar store I’ve ever been in!) The carriers are organized by type (slings, Mei tai, etc), and each product page is bursting with information and photos. Parenting By Nature offered to send me my choice of baby carrier, and at first I was very overwhelmed! I tried slings and different carriers with my son, and finally settled on a popular mainstream carrier. It was convenient, but he quickly outgrew it. I knew I wanted something that would last longer for our new daughter. The incredible descriptions and information on Parenting By Nature helped me narrow my decision down, and I finally settled on the Scootababy.
Since I’m not a babywearing expert, I’m still a little freaked out by anything that doesn’t have a sturdy buckle. I liked that the Scootababy has a high weight limit (40 pounds) and is designed for a natural hip-carry. It won’t work for our newborn, but I think it’ll be perfect once our baby has full head control.
Parenting By Nature also specializes in cloth diapers. I’ve never tried cloth diapering because my husband hasn’t been willing to venture there! If I’m ever able to change his mind, the first place I’ll go is Parenting By Nature. They have a wealth of information on cloth diapering, including their KISS Guide To Using Cloth Diapers. They even offer to assist you via e-mail in making the best cloth diapering choice for your family. With their huge selection of cloth diapers and accessories, you’ll find just want you need.
Parenting By Nature is more than baby carriers and diapers though. They offer natural and wooden toys, natural baby products, and nursing products, to name a few. They even host a Baby Registry, which would be a HUGE help for any expecting mom looking for more “green” items than the local big box store offers.
WIN IT! The fantastic people behind Parenting By Nature are providing a Scootababy Baby Carrier for one of you! To enter, visit Parenting By Nature and leave a comment telling me something that caught your eye. Winner must have a US or Canadian address, and shipping will be fulfilled by Parenting By Nature. Get an additional entry for sharing about this contest on Facebook, Twitter, email, or your own blog. We will select a winner at random on Saturday. Good luck!

They have such a wide variety of soft pack buckle carriers, I love it! For example they’re the first store I’ve seen carrying the Ergo Baby sport carrier, although I heard about it somewhere else (maybe on a blog?)

The The Original MiniShower Diaper Sprayer caught my eye. This would make cleaning my cloth diapers so much easier.

I think the Nursing Bracelet is a wonderful idea. It has numbered beads and a removable charm, you just move the charm onto the coordinating time bead at each feeding. You can also place the bracelet on the arm of the breast that you last fed with to help keep track of which breast to start with at the next feeding.
Trying to write all of this down is a hassle, this bracelet would be very handy.

I’m a big fan of baby carriers – I use my Snugli almost everytime we go to the grocery store, library, or anywhere else I am going to be walking around. I’ve been looking for a toddler carrier lately, though, or something a bigger baby can sit in while on my hip (rather than down my front). Would love to win!
Hotslings or Karma Water Sling would be ideal for me!
Megan@SortaCrunchy on March 10th, 2009 at 1:17 pm

On Parenting By Nature, I liked the ‘Baby Mattress Pads, Vinyl-Free’; I loved alot of things on their site. I also appreciate how easy the site is to navigate.
The Scootababy carrier is so wonderful, I would love to own one in ‘TAUPE TWILL’ and my second choice is ‘WALL STREET’.
Thanks for the chance to enter! Please submit the other entry if you can?! Sorry for the trouble.

I love the Scootababy Wall Street and loved looking through all the cloth diapers since we recently started using cloth diapers!
Cee on March 14th, 2009 at 9:34 am
I love that the carrier is a ‘one-handed operation.’ So many carriers we have tried, from slings to wraps, have required at least one other person almost to help cinch or tie. This would be perfect. I love the weight limit, too! My daughter is nearing the 30lb mark, and so many soft carriers have a limit of 25-35lbs.
Thank you for the giveaway!!
Deirdre on March 14th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
my daughter would love the Waldorf Play Foods Pizza!
